Healing Garden
Click Here for a guided prayer walkThe HARP Christian Counseling Prayer and Healing Garden, located along the right side and rear of the office of HARP Christian Counseling, is a small but very special garden. We have utilized a once overlooked and meaningless space for this lovely and serene garden. This healing and prayer garden is not just a place to attract birds and butterflies, but also a lovely and peaceful setting for personal prayer and meditation. Here visitors will find that prayer stations and meditation benches surround the path around our fountain. Our clients can enjoy the garden before or after their appointments, and are welcome to linger and pause in the simple setting of this natural garden. This beautiful space dedicated to healing and prayer has long been the vision of the founder of HARP Christian Counseling, Lora Williams. This garden was established in the summer of 2020 in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic as a reminder that amidst sorrow and hardship, beauty and peace can emerge. It is our goal that this garden will be for our visitors a peaceful place for prayer, meditation, butterfly and bird watching, and a simple place to be quiet before the Lord.
The garden features lovely natural trees, a central fountain, painted bird houses, numerous and varied flowering plants and shrubs, several meditation benches, bird feeders, seasonal hanging baskets, a lovely cross, a bird bath with a solar fountain, scripture and prayer stones, along with a picnic table with an umbrella and benches for rest and quiet moments. The garden’s central element is the lovely fountain which is located in the center of the garden, and surrounded by dozens of fall and winter blooming shrubs. We hope that here in this simple, but beautiful place, that you will find the healing power of prayer among the year round flowering shrubs and plants. This garden is an ongoing project, so please return often to discover any new plantings, scripture or prayer stones, or other garden elements that may have been added. If you desire to make a donation of plants, art, or sculpture, please contact us for more information about the current needs of the garden.
